Introducing Hello, Mountain Mover!
Girls on the Run of Greater Kalamazoo is excited to unveil its latest curriculum, 'Hello, Mountain Mover!', launching in Spring 2025. Building on last year’s successful 'Hello, Superstar!' program, this new initiative is designed to empower girls with the confidence and resilience to take on challenges, big and small!
Encouraging Confidence to Tackle Challenges
'Hello, Mountain Mover!' inspires girls to develop a “can-do” mindset, equipping them with skills to face difficulties head-on and inspire others to do the same. Whether it’s completing a 5K, speaking up in class, or supporting a friend, each girl’s journey is unique, and this curriculum provides the tools to help her succeed.
Practical Tools for Growth
'Hello, Mountain Mover!' introduces strategies that help girls build resilience and determination, including:
-
The Power of 'I Can!' – A core theme of this program is teaching girls to believe in their abilities. They’ll learn that challenges aren’t roadblocks but opportunities to grow.
-
Stick-With-It Strategies – Girls gain practical techniques to stay motivated, break tasks into manageable steps, and celebrate small victories along the way.
-
Learning from Mistakes – Instead of fearing failure, participants will be encouraged to embrace mistakes as part of the learning process, even creating a fun “mistake cheer” to reframe setbacks as stepping stones.
Building on a Strong Foundation
As the second installment in a three-part curriculum update, 'Hello, Mountain Mover!' continues the momentum from 'Hello, Superstar!', which focused on celebrating individuality and self-expression. Now, the focus shifts to overcoming obstacles and pushing through challenges, reinforcing essential life skills that will benefit girls long after the season ends.

Looking Ahead
Girls on the Run of Greater Kalamazoo is proud to bring this exciting new curriculum to our community in Spring 2025. We can’t wait to see how our participants embrace their Mountain Mover mindset and apply these lessons to their daily lives.
Stay tuned for more updates, and get ready to move mountains!
