Online Registration – Girls on the Run of Greater Kalamazoo engages in a lottery based online registration system to ensure a fair and equal process for all girls. Parents/Guardians are able to sign their girl up online any time during open registration.
To sign up for the lottery online, please have the following information available:
When you register your girl, you will be asked to submit a form of payment. You will only be charged for the registration if and when your girl is placed on a team.
If you can not register online, please call the office to request a paper registration form: 269-532-1220.
Girls will be placed on teams Girl Placement Day will occur in December, this is when the online system will randomly select girls that signed up for a designated location.
What the Program Fee Includes:
The fee also covers council costs such as: liability insurance, background checks for all coaches and volunteers, website and online registration fees, 5k expenses and our GOTRI renewal membership fee which allows us to operate as a council.
When families cannot afford to pay the full $165 registration, they may opt for financial assistance while registering online. Program fees range from $5 to $164 based on the family's household income. No girl has ever been turned away from our programs for financial reasons. Girls participate equally in the program regardless of their financial aid but must complete the program in order to receive all the benefits listed above, including the shoes.
The financial sustainability of our program depends on our program fee. The following scale is provided ONLY for families in need of financial assistance. Local fund raising efforts and donations help to bridge the gap. Families that have the ability to and are interested in supporting the program beyond the $165 may choose to sponsor additional girls as well.
Reading the Scale: Find the correct number for your household in the “# of Family Members in Household” and then look for your "Annual Income" to find the suggested program fee. Example: A household of 5 family members with an annual income of $40,000 would see a suggested fee of $75.
*Program fees are non-refundable two weeks prior to the program start date. A written request for a refund must be received by the Girls on the Run office two weeks prior to the program start date. All refunds are subject to a $10 processing fee.
