Where should I park?

Where do I park? Parking is available in all WMU parking lots surrounding Waldo Stadium, including the lot in front of the Student Recreation Center. The exceptions are: handicapped parking is located in lot #7 on Stadium Drive before 6 PM, and lot #10 which is for volunteer parking. Parking attendants will be on site on the day of the event to assist you. Parking is NOT allowed along the railroad tracks.

Can I bring my dog or pet?

For safety reasons, pets, strollers, wagons, rollerblades, and bicycles are not allowed on the course or in the stadium.

The safety of our girls and all participants at the Girls on the Run 5k always is our first priority. We have a thorough safety plan in place for the event. The 5k will be cancelled by 6 PM if there is lightning. If it is at all possible (even in the rain!), we will continue to have the event. It will NOT be rescheduled. If severe conditions exist prior to the event, please tune into Channel 3 (WWMT). We will also post information on our website at

Where do we go as spectators?

You may watch your girl and the opening ceremony from the stands inside Waldo Stadium, or you may want to cheer from the sidewalks along the route. Only girls, coaches and registered participants may be on the field prior to the event and on the road during the event.

You can STILL be involved! We need lots of volunteers to help at the event. You can also support GOTR from your couch by registering as a "Virtual Runner." You will be supporting a proven program that empowers girls and you will receive your very own event shirt. (Shirts for virtual runners will be available at packet pick up or at the GOTR offices following the Tutu Run.)

Volunteer Registration

This event would not be possible without the help of amazing volunteers who believe in our mission and show up to support our girls. Whatever your special skills and talents, we'll have a role for you! Individuals and groups are invited to be a part of our volunteer team.
